Butter Tart Celebration - Weekend Food & Yoga Retreat

Friday, June 8 – Sunday, June 10, 2018

Do you love butter tarts and everything butter related?

With a name like Sugar Ridge you know we understand the sweet stuff.  Our centre is named after the beautiful maple forest which covers the ridge we are located on.  We love maple syrup and that’s what makes our butter tarts so special.  That, and they’re gluten free too!

Midland is home to the best butter tart festival in Ontario!

This weekend is all about food and celebrating the start of summer.  What better place to do that than near Georgian Bay?  Enjoy gourmet vegan meals in between yoga and meditation classes, hikes and afternoon naps.  We’ll explore the local town of Midland on Saturday for the festival, going early to get a good sample of tarts.

Everything this weekend is optional so you can participate in whatever makes your heart sing and skip the rest.

 

 

 

Weekend schedule

Friday

3-5pm       Arrive and settle in to your cabin
5-6pm       Meet & Greet in the studio with your new weekend friends
6pm          Gourmet vegan dinner
7:30pm     Restorative Yoga & Guided relaxation
9pm          Bonfire enjoying the stars, or relax in your cottage

 

Saturday

7:00am     Good morning Yoga – Gentle Hatha yoga
8:30 am    Breakfast
9:30 am    Head in to Midland and enjoy the festival & return at your leisure
                 Lunch on your own in Midland – or just eat tarts!
2pm          Meet at the Wye Marsh and go canoeing
4pm (ish)  Head back to Sugar Ridge and relax
6:00pm     Dinner
7:30 pm    Zumba dance party
9:00pm     Relax by the fire (inside or out)

Sunday

Liz Frost M.A. Ed, RP, is a mindfulness coach, certified yoga teacher and psychotherapist in the Midland, Ontario area. She has studied with Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli of the Centre for Mindfulness, Norman Feldman, Lee Lesser and most recently with Shinzen Young.

Liz was introduced to meditation in the early 90’s and found yoga as a form of meditation.  With a foundation in meditation and somatic based psychotherapy, she incorporates mindfulness into yoga practice. She is co-owner of Sugar Ridge and devotes her time and energy to making the world a more peaceful place.

Retreat tuition:  $445 + HST with shared accommodation, meals and classes, entrance to the Wye Marsh and classes.  Saturday lunch is not included since you’ll be in Midland.
