The Power of Purpose Retreat For Men

Friday, July 21 – Sunday, July 23, 2017

Life can be challenging for men.  It can feel like you are not living for yourself anymore: doing “what’s best” for your partner, the kids, your boss, everyone but you.

Step Out of the Struggle and Step Back Into The Driver’s Seat

It is easy to lose touch with what really matters in your life and leave you floundering, resentful and unhappy. This is a retreat to address all of this head on. We will spend 3 days getting to the core of what is important to you and help you chart a course to the life you want. The result? Your happiness.

This retreat is for you if…

  • You are feeling trapped and controlled by your partner/family, your work or life in general.
  • You feel resentful because no matter how much you give to others and put everyone else first, you don’t feel you get taken care or considered in return.
  • You find yourself thinking your partner is “crazy” or unreasonable and struggle to understand how to communicate or relate to them without fights or frustration.

Here’s what you will learn

  • You will explore your personal life direction and dig into the question: “What are you doing with the rest of your life?”
  • How to make yourself count again. Learn to get your needs met and live happily on your terms.
  • How to move away from ‘crazy’ and connect with your partner and others in your life in mutually satisfying ways.
  • increase intimacy, create mutual compassion and respect.

Here’s what you will leave with

Take away one

  • You living your purpose is you doing what makes you feel the most energized and alive.
  • You moving towards a better version of yourself.

Take away two

  • Start with taking a little time each day to do at least one thing that you truly enjoy.
  • Don’t wait for others to meet your needs or put off things that matter to you; if you want something get it….too many guys “go without” when they can easily give to themselves.

Take away three

  • Breathe and stay open during stressful conversations.
  • Acknowledge and ask for clarification.
  • Ask about what you don’t understand and for more info.

Facilitators

Kurt Frost

In addition to my work running Sugar Ridge with my wife, Liz, I also maintain private psychotherapy and coaching practices and am a yoga teacher.  One of the most fulfilling parts of my work is therapy and coaching with men. Helping men to navigate their way through the confusion and frustration of their relationships, work and lives in general, and watch them step into their fuller potential and flourish is very satisfying.
