A lot of people think that Sugar Ridge is all about yoga and meditation. Although we are certainly passionate about both activities, our motto is: “As long as it’s legal, do whatever you please.”
We’ve hosted non-profit retreats, corporate team-building retreats, fundraisers for charities, African Youth initiation groups, spiritual groups, and plenty of yoga and meditation retreats. We will cater to the needs of your group regardless of what you’re doing while you’re here. We observe silence if you do, and we’re happy to dance with you too!
Sugar Ridge Retreat Centre is located only 90 minutes north of Toronto, close to Midland, Ontario. With 150 acres of lush meadows, majestic forests and rolling hills, Sugar Ridge is an ideal setting for any retreat. Enjoy stunning views of the Wye Marsh and Georgian Bay year-round while hiking the trails of the property as you reconnect with nature and its beauty at Sugar Ridge.
Our cozy cabin accommodations are nestled in the woods and offer a retreat all on their own! Sugar Ridge’s fully accessible retreat centre was designed to accommodate the needs of participants and facilitators, and two of our cabins are also fully accessible. Cabin beds are comfortable, the duvets are snuggly, and each cabin has it’s own unique view of the forest. The studio is comfortable for 25-30 people for yoga or up to 50 people for sitting meditation or workshops and meetings. Sugar Ridge Retreat Centre features a grand hall studio, a dining hall, a lounge with double sided fireplace, and a large commercial kitchen serving up yummy, organic vegetarian meals.
We would be pleased to answer any questions you may have or to provide a quote for your group. Just call Liz for any additional information or just to say hi and get a sense of what we’re all about.
We look forward to hosting your retreat at Sugar Ridge!
“Caroline Owen and I delivered our trauma-informed yoga training at Sugar Ridge in October 2015, and we were very impressed at the level of professionalism and customer service, the quality of the facilities, and excellent meals delivered on behalf of Liz and her team. From the time we booked the facility, through the student registration process, to the very end of our workshop, we were provided with ample support, guidance and warm hospitality, making the whole venture very straightforward and easeful. The organic, cozy feel of the buildings, beautiful natural setting, and resident dogs really contributed to the welcoming atmosphere. Sugar Ridge felt like “home” for those 4 days, and I look forward to the possibility of delivering further workshops at this wonderfully peaceful, all-inclusive getaway venue.”
