200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program LIVE IN PERSON
Saturday, April 22
Deepen your practice. Discover your purpose. Teach with confidence.
Deciding to embark on a yoga teacher training can be a monumental decision. Maybe you have been inspired by your own practice on the mat, by the teachings of another, or you innately know that it is time to start something new or expand on the knowledge you have already.
Whatever your motivation, our yoga teacher training & certification program provides the education and understanding you need to deepen your own practice and from that base, teach others with grace and ease. Deeply rooted in contemporary anatomical science, classical yoga history & philosophy, you will be guided to find your own unique way of confidently sharing this wisdom with others.
Facilitated by experienced faculty, the training is recognized by The Canadian Yoga Alliance (thus ensuring that all participants will be able to secure liability insurance upon successful completion of the course).
This 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program is based on a multidisciplinary approach with a focus on Hatha and/or Vinyasa asana practice. The course is deeply rooted in classical Eastern philosophy while integrating mindful anatomical connections to ensure that graduates are confident, competent and personally invested in their own learning. This comprehensive approach blends movement, lectures, group study, self-development and practical application to ensure that participants deepen their own practice while preparing to lead others.
It is our belief that all levels of practitioners will benefit from our Teacher Training. Our program is designed to take you on a journey of self-exploration as well as yoga instruction. The schedule provides flexibility for those pursuing their certification part-time.
People have been asking Sugar Ridge to create a YTT for many years, and finally we’ve got the right teacher to offer you a YTT with confidence. With Jenny Jackson joining the Sugar Ridge team, our YTT program is offered in collaboration with her via BodyBalanced Wellness. Jenny is the primary teacher for the program and her wealth of experience includes creating and facilitating YTT for 10 years. She has had the experience of owning and operating a successful yoga studio and is the perfect guide for you to find your own style of teaching. Jenny is insightful, engaging, and promotes autonomous thinking and personal exploration so that you will receive from the program precisely what you are seeking. It is not a ‘one size fits all’ training approach. Independent learning is encouraged so that when you graduate you will feel empowered with confidence in yourself to teach, a solid base of knowledge and the skill-set that is in alignment with your own needs, strengths and desires,.
Many people join a YTT to embark or continue on a journey of guiding others, and many people use it as a way to deepen their understanding and personal practice of yoga. You are welcome to join without ever intending to teach. No particular level of experience or physical ability is required in order to deepen your understanding and become an effective yoga practitioner and teacher. Many people do this training for personal reasons and ‘find themselves’ through their practice.
The tuition includes a YTT manual, all reading materials, lunches during classes at Sugar Ridge.
