Mindfulness and Classical Yoga 5 day retreat with Gillian & Peter

Monday, June 15 – Friday, June 19, 2020

Mindfulness and Yoga! The Best of Both Worlds, guided by Gillian  and Peter

Do you want to experience both worlds?

Do you want to experience this in a setting of intentionality and no pressure?

Do you want be guided by experienced trainers?

Do you want to have a break, to reflect, to ease up?

Do you want to experience a retreat just to be, and let come what will come?

Mindfulness is a way of cultivating awareness of whatever is happening in your life and invites you to be present moment to moment. As you become more aware of the subtleties of thoughts, emotions and actions, you naturally become less reactive to emotional situations and better able to respond to events from a place of calm perspective. Although your trainer is a certified MBSR trainer the retreat is not a full MBSR. It is about putting your toes in the water, doing Mindfulness exercises and experiencing what this will bring you.

Classical Yoga is a gentle, mindful practice, which combines breath, movement and meditation with the aim of total health and well-being. It promotes physical strength and flexibility while improving concentration, steadiness and calmness of mind. Together we will experience physical practice (asana), breath work (pranayama), and cultivate mindful yogic attitudes (bhava), all rooted in basic concepts of yoga philosophy as we strengthen, mind, body and spirit. The result is decreased stress, and increased inner strength and joy. Any age, any fitness level can participate!

Here are ways this week can benefit you:

  • Improved sleep
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Opening doors to new ways of ‘seeing’
  • Taking time just for you
  • Understanding how stress manifests physically and emotionally
  • Having time and space for inner reflection
  • Engaging with a highly experienced coach about who can support your questions

The combination of Mindfulness and Classical Yoga is a natural one. The program is unique in offering an equal balance of both, and creating connections between the two.

You will also be invited to do some light homework during the week. Homework that brings you further insights that can stay with you the rest of your life.

Side effects of a practice in Mindfulness and Yoga include a more balanced state of being …  you may even find yourself walking around with a smile for no apparent reason 😊.
