National Aboriginal Day at Sainte Marie Among the Huron: 1 Night Retreat

Wednesday, June 21 – Thursday, June 22, 2017

Celebrate Aboriginal Culture

Stay with us for a day of celebration at Sainte Marie Among the Hurons!

Today is the national day of celebration across Canada to recognize the cultures and contributions
of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
We choose June 21 because of the cultural significance of the summer solstice and because many Aboriginal groups mark this day to celebrate their heritage.

All ages and levels of physical ability are welcome to come and enjoy the festivities.

When we’re not at Sainte Marie you can explore the trails of Sugar Ridge, enjoy yoga & meditation classes,
and relax on the patio.
You will leave feeling energized after a day of drumming, dancing and celebration!

Absolutely no experience or flexibility is required – If you’re breathing you’ll enjoy this day!

We won’t sleep in a long house, but you will be staying on the stomping grounds of aboriginal people
who occupied the area long before the French decided to create Sainte Marie.
