Summer Solstice Yoga & Hike Retreat

Monday, June 20 – Wednesday, June 22, 2022

Rejuvenate, Invigorate, Celebrate!

Join Jenny Jackson for a summer celebration!

Summer Solstice marks the transition to summer and the warmth to come.  It’s also National Indigenous Peoples Day.

This is an invitation to relax, and reconnect with the natural world around you.  We will visit Sainte Marie Among the Huron for National Indigenous Peoples Day and celebrate with drumming, dancing and learn a slice of the history of Canada.

Try a gentle yoga class and learn how to meditate – no experience or physical ability is required.  If you’re breathing, you can do yoga….if you know you’re thinking, you can meditate!

All are welcome to come and enjoy the peacefulness of Sugar Ridge.
Recharge by relaxing!
Hike in the forest trails, mindful meditation,
gentle yoga, walking meditation out in the medicine wheel garden.

You will leave feeling energized after a few days of relaxing!

The schedule is an offering – nothing is mandatory.  Spend the whole time on the patio if you want:)

Meet Your Teachers

Jenny Jackson has been immersed in Movement Education for more than 20 years. Jenny is a seeker of inner well-being, and she consciously aligns herself living with an open mind, an open heart and embodies joy & vitality which is reflected in her welcoming & inclusive style of instruction. She teaches with a strong anatomical influence while still deeply honouring the classical roots of yoga. Jenny believes that feeling vital and in harmony with others & within our own selves is the primary goal (in life and in our bodies), and practice should reflect this.

Expect well-planned, responsible, creative & intuitive instruction within Jenny’s classes and retreats. Trust that your needs will be supported and a sense of inclusion & community will always be a focus. Jenny takes her offerings (but not herself) very seriously, so you can relax and be yourself as she leads with humour and vulnerability.

Jenny is a certified and experienced schoolteacher, yoga teacher, personal trainer, group fitness coach, and Health & Wellness coach. Jenny finds her own sense of centering while mountain biking in the forest and enjoying her stand-up paddleboard. She is the founder of Body Balanced Wellness, which offers registered Yoga Teacher Training Programs, both online & in person.
