Wellness Within: Mindful Movement and Meditation Retreat

Friday, January 27 – Sunday, January 29, 2023

This weekend has a focus on mindfulness practices to create a space of wellness from the inside out. Enjoy this time just for you as you experience practices in both movement and stillness, creating a blended balance of Yang & Yin energies in body, mind & spirit. 

Your guide  for this retreat, Vicki Hartley, embodies the essence of balance. Depending on your own unique needs, you may choose to participate in all, or perhaps, only some of the activities on the agenda. Rest assured that no matter what your current level of activity or ability, all of the practices are inclusive, and all partcipants are supported to ensure that everyone feels successful. 

  • Cleanse and nourish your body with yummy organic, plant-based meals, while you also nourish your soul.Peanut Stew
  • Come into physical balance with movement classes that will flex your muscles, as well as your mind & spirit.
  • Create your resilient emotional balance with minfulness-based meditation.
  • Enjoy the beauty around you with time hiking the forest.
  • Meet new friends and become your own best friends!

Throughout this retreat, you are invited to explore various forms of minfulness meditations including sitting, walking and eating, as well as mindful movement through yoga and gentle exercise. No experience with yoga or meditation is necessary! This retreat is perfect if you’re curious about it but not sure where to start. Everything during your retreat is completely optional. This is YOUR time. If you need to sleep in, then skip the early morning yoga session. Allow this time to be the kindest gift you can ever give yourself, and honour your true needs.

Friday

3-4 pm      Arrive and settle into your cabin
5pm         Gentle Somatic Yoga to Re-balance the Nervous System
6pm         Dinner
7pm         Group Circle & Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation

Saturday

7:30am       Sensory Meditation
8:00            Yin/Yang Yoga class…or sleep
9:00            Breakfast
10:30          Guided Hike – bring snowshoes if you have them
12:30          Lunch
1:30            Intro to Chakras & Meditation

    Free time:  read, nap, explore the forest, play in the snow!

4:00           Happy Hips & Restorative Yoga
6:00           Dinner
7:00           Sound Meditation for Relaxation

Sunday

7:30am      Yoga 
9am           Breakfast & free time to pack up your cabin
10:30         Metta (Loving Kindness) Meditation
12:30         Lunch- Mindful Eating

Meet Your Teacher

Your guide for this retreat is Vicki Hartley

Never one to sit down, Vicki’s first intro to yoga did not come easy…at all! Stillness was not her strong suit. However, the benefits of yoga and mindfulness were so completely life changing that she yearned for more. Her ‘more’ turned out to be a whole life dedicated to this beloved practice!

Vicki completed a 300hr yoga teacher certification in 2013 and has never stopped learning. She is a Certified Mindfulness Facilitator, Reiki Master, and Sound Alchemist, and has certifications in Yin Yoga and Yoga for First Responders.

Vicki‘s teaching philosophy supports a sustainable yoga practice through mindfulness, proper alignment and somatic exploration. She encourages you to dive in, be curious, and cultivate a practice that honours your body, mind and spirit, right where it is at.

$575 + HST for shared accommodation (up to 3 – 4 people in a cabin)
$650 + HST Semi-private (2 people in your room)
$825 + HST Private cabin (just you in a room)
