Wellness Within: Mindful Movement and Meditation Retreat

This weekend getaway is an opportunity to create a space of wellness from the inside out by incorporating mindfulness practices of movement and stillness. Enjoy this time just for you as you experience practices creating a balance of Yang & Yin energies in body, mind & spirit.
Your guide for this retreat, Tammy Hoy, embodies the essence of balance with her extensive background in both high energy running and fitness leadership, and daily yoga and meditation.
Throughout this retreat, you are invited to explore various forms of mindfulness meditations including sitting, walking and eating, as well as mindful movement through yoga and gentle exercise.
- Cleanse and nourish your body with yummy organic vegan meals, while you also nourish your soul.
- Come into physical balance with movement classes that will flex your muscles, as well as your mind & spirit.
- Create your resilient emotional balance with mindfulness-based meditation.
- Enjoy the beauty around you with time hiking the forest.
- Meet new friends and become your own best friends!
No experience with yoga or meditation is necessary! No particular fitness level is required. You are encouraged to respect your own unique needs during the retreat and to participate in the activities you want and skip the others. Everything during your retreat is completely optional. Rest assured that no matter what your current level of activity or ability, you will be able to participate. All of the practices are inclusive, and all participants are supported to ensure that everyone gets what they need. This retreat is perfect if you’re curious about mindfulness but not sure where to start. This is YOUR time. If you need to sleep in, then skip the early morning yoga session. Allow this time to be the kindest gift you can ever give yourself, and honour your true needs.

7pm Group Circle & Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation
Saturday
7:30am Sensory Meditation
8:00 Yin/Yang Yoga class…or sleep
9:00 Breakfast & free time
11:00 Mindful Strength Class (or hike the forest)
12:30 Lunch
1:30 Chakra Meditation
3:00 Free time: read, nap, explore the forest
4:30 Restorative Yoga
6:00 Dinner
7:30 Guided Meditation for Relaxation

11:00 Metta (Loving Kindness) Meditation

Meet Your Teacher
Tammy Hoy: is a 500 hour Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher. She is a family-orientated mom of three who loves nature and all things fitness related, including trail running. Her passion for yoga began ten years ago when she stepped onto her mat for the first time. The peace and calm she found in her daily practice, transformed off her
mat into her busy life and she was instantly hooked. As a cancer survivor, yoga was an invaluable tool she used to help her sift through a roller coaster of emotions and challenges put in her path. Tammy is able to use her life experiences to help guide her teachings and inspire others to find joy and peace even in the heaviest or chaotic of times. Her soft voice, welcoming personality and optimistic outlook allows students to feel at ease and in a safe place to explore their own challenges both on and off their mats. Tammy sees yoga as a life long learning adventure and she continuously looks forward to growing, discovering and breathing with each and everyone.
