Winter Solstice Retreat & Crystal Journey Concert

Friday, December 16 – Sunday, December 18, 2022

Join us for a two-night getaway to celebrate the magic of the Winter Solstice!
 

This weekend escape is an opportunity to take a break and recharge.  If you’re busy taking care of everyone else, you need time to yourself to step away and rest, reboot your system and take a couple days to think of no one but yourself.  Let Jenny guide your journey inwards as the seasons change and we move into hibernation mode. The winter solstice symbolizes a transition time of getting quieter, personal introspection, and germination.

This time away from routine is an opportunity to connect to peace within through gentle healing yoga, mindful breathing, and meditation practices.  You’ll have opportunities for self-reflection and quiet connection with others. Lunch on Friday will be offered in silence to deepen your connection within.

A variety of classes are offered but they’re all optional.  Participate in whatever you feel like, sleep in if you want, or simply just enjoy the beauty of Sugar Ridge in winter.  Let this be time just for you!

No experience with yoga or meditation is required. All levels welcome.

12:30pm    Lunch – Mindful Eating in Silence

       Free time to nap, read, sit by the fire       

1:30          Guided Hike

4:30           Gentle Somatic Yoga/Movement

Meet Your Facilitator


Jenny Jackson
has been immersed in Movement Education for more than 20 years. Jenny is a seeker of inner well-being, and she consciously aligns herself to live with an open mind, an open heart, and embodies joy & vitality which is reflected in her welcoming & inclusive style of instruction. She teaches with a strong anatomical influence while still deeply honouring the classical roots of yoga. Jenny believes that feeling vital and in harmony with others & within our own selves is the primary goal (in life and in our bodies), and practice should reflect this.

Expect well-planned, responsible, creative & intuitive instruction within Jenny’s classes and retreats. Trust that your needs will be supported and a sense of inclusion & community will always be a focus. Jenny takes her offerings (but not herself) very seriously, so you can relax and be yourself as she leads with humour and vulnerability.

Jenny is a certified and experienced schoolteacher, yoga teacher, personal trainer, group fitness coach, and Health & Wellness coach. She is the founder of Body Balanced Wellness, which offers registered Yoga Teacher Training Programs, both online & in person.
