YOUR HEART MATTERS: An exploration & celebration of SELF. Led by Dr. Laura Foster

Friday, September 20 – Sunday, September 22, 2019

This woman’s retreat is an exploration and celebration of SELF.

Self-awareness is the path to creating the life that truly matters. How we honor ourselves and what we truly believe about who we are and why we are here is the foundation of living.

It is my knowing that we are all divinely created as perfect beings. Nothing about this retreat will change you. Instead, this retreat will cultivate a deeper appreciation of who you already are and a remembering & calling back of the parts of you that you feel disconnected from. You will leave this retreat feeling more purposeful in the way you move about your life. You’ll feel more aligned in your decisions and have more clarity around what feels right for you.

Because I have you for an entire weekend, I must add that this weekend is meant to feel light, fun and gratifying because if it’s not, then we are missing the GIFT of taking an entire weekend away from our busyness and multi-tasking lives.

We are also choosing to celebrate women and our innate ability to create connection. For many of us, our female friendships and connections have become a lifeline that cultivates joy, belonging and self-love. For some of us we don’t feel like we have the kinds of friendships and connections that we truly long for. We will talk about creating deep, authentic connections and how to cultivate more meaningful relationship within our lives.

The weekend will involve journaling, quiet introspection, group gathering and workshop as well as meditation, yoga (with Ali Martin ), group bonfire under the moonlit sky, hiking on and around the vast, beautiful property and a chance to wear your cozy clothes while you wrap your hands around warm mugs of coffee or tea with your journal in hand.

It is possible to have your life reflect your deepest desires even when we feel like our life has become complicated and so very full of tasks and responsibilities. You will leave this weekend feeling more deeply connected within yourself and to other amazing women. You will feel a greater sense of clarity, hope, belonging and inspiration.

You will remember how much fun it is to create play, fun and connection to nature and to like-minded women.

You will feel like your heart set and your mind set are operating as one.

Accommodations:

A stay here is like comfortable camping. Each of the beautifully-constructed cabins have cozy bedding and warm duvets topping the beds, and electric heat. Each cabin sleeps four, with either one double bed and two twins (occupancy 3) or four twin beds (occupancy 4). We offer shared, private & semi-private accommodation packages for this retreat.

There are no bathroom facilities or running water in the cabins, so you have to walk across the wildflower field to use the common bathrooms in the main lodge, where you’ll find clean, well-designed private shower cubicles with plenty of hot water (less than a minute walk from any of the cabins).

Since the idea of a stay here is to unwind and reconnect, the cabins don’t have phones or TVs. You will probably be able to pick up a cell phone signal in your cabin, although you may be more peaceful if you put away your phone for a few days. If you really need to get online, wi-fi is available in the lodge. I encourage you to leave your technology behind.

It is so incredibly quiet here and you will definitely feel the pull of nature and the sense of getting away from it all.

Food:

Here at Sugar Ridge Retreat Centre you will never find yourself hungry.

This retreat includes all your meals – the food is vegetarian, organic and locally grown when possible. Simply put >> it’s delicious. The buffet-style breakfasts include a hot dish like pancakes or muffins, along with fresh, organic fruit, cereal, breads, and jams. Coffee, tea, and juices, as well as trail mix, fruit, or other snacks, are available all day. Included meals are dinner Friday, B/L/D on Saturday and B/L on Sunday.

We dine as a group in the bright and airy dining room or on the outdoor space when the sun is beaming down.

Hope you will join us. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Can’t wait to meet you (or reunite with you) and enjoy an incredible weekend together.

Meet Your Facilitators

Dr. Laura Foster has been an inspired Chiropractor for 20+ years and along the way she has coached and led retreats, workshops and group gatherings that have allowed her to tap into her gift of helping others find their truth and greatest sense of self.

Laura believe that our soul work is our greatest work and also our most rewarding. It’s where joy, passion and inspiration reside and when we take the time to create the space and opportunity to connect with that part of ourselves, we become grounded in who we are. Her retreats are always a beautifully curated experience that couldn’t help but inspire you.”

Laura has many passions with a multitude of interests, but all of them include connection, laughter and great food – and her retreats are no exception. If you are used to having your own space please be aware that there are many private, quiet areas in the main lodge and on the Sugar Ridge property and there will be ample time for you to find solitude if that is what you need and want during this retreat.
If you are a single registrant – awesome! We have found that over 50% of the women who sign up for our retreats are coming alone so do not worry if this is something you’ve never done before. We assure you – you won’t feel alone. We may arrive solo, but we will move throughout our weekend as a mini-tribe of beautiful souls. Many of the women you meet during this weekend will likely become life-long friends.

Having said all of this, if you require semi-private or private accommodation we may be able to accommodate your needs ($75-$160 surcharge). Please enquire.
