EMBRACE THE MAGIC OF AUTUMN
One of the most wonderful parts of living in Ontario is the transformational experience of seasonal change. Autumn reminds us to shed what no longer serves us, to celebrate the fruits of our labour, and to go within as we prepare for our upcoming time of winter ‘hibernating’.
This weekend getaway offers you an opportunity to step away from the busy-ness of life in order to be truly present in the rich sensory experience of the fall season. Through mindful yoga classes, various styles of meditation, and contemplative discussions, and a guided journalling workshop, you will have the time and space to reflect on the benefits of slowing down and being an authentic observer of self.
We will honour Samhaim with a Somatic Ecstatic Guided Dance which is appropriate for all…even those who “don’t” dance! Adorn yourself in your Autumn/Halloween/Samhaim outfit or costume and let’s connect to spirit and joy.
Samhain (pronounced SOW-in in Irish, though some say SAH-win) is an ancient Celtic seasonal festival marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of the darker half of the year. Traditionally observed from the evening of October 31 to November 1, it is considered a liminal time when the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds is believed to be at its thinnest. It is a time for honoring ancestors, reflecting on endings, releasing what no longer serves, and preparing for a new cycle.
Samhain is a sacred seasonal celebration of transition, remembrance, and renewal. It invites us to honor our ancestors, reflect on the year that has passed, release what we are ready to let go of, and embrace the quiet wisdom of the coming season. Together, we gather in ceremony to reconnect with ourselves, each other, and the natural cycles of life, death, and rebirth.
