Introduction to Ayurveda

Take a day just for you to rewind....

Enjoy disconnecting from the external, and turn within, reconnect to SELF, using yoga, meditation and nature, in a ‘nourishing/flourishing’ environment.  We’ll explore simple concepts form ayurveda – the science side of yoga.

Lovingly flow your body through gentle yoga, simple breathing exercises (pranayama), and guided meditation.

In Ayurveda one’s natural constitution is called a dosha.  There are 3 of them and we all have aspects of each, but usually have one which is dominant.  This day will let you discover what your Dosha is, and understand why is it important.  Learn about yourself, your reactions, relationships, and why you do certain things inately.

You will learn what yoga poses are best suited to balance your dosha, and what lifestyle changes will impact you most favourably.  Leave with increased inner knowledge and a plan to help you prevent dis-ease.

Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom – Lao Tzu

There will be free time at lunch to mindfully wander the forest and grounds, explore, observe, experience, read or journal.  Andrea will be offering Thai yoga massage for an additional fee which you can sign up for and pay to her directly.

Nurture your whole BE-ing

Nurture your whole BE-ing on this day.  Do what you intuitively need, and absorb the day’s magic and energy.

“Yoga is the natural rhythm of life which brings you closer to yourself and to others.” ― Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Participants are encouraged to bring a journal and pen to reflect and make notes to carry the wisdom home and continue exploring your dosha.
