Yoga and Meditation Introduction to Ayurveda Retreat

The 3 Doshas

Ayurveda is the ancient science of natural medicine and defines perfect health as “a balance between body, mind, spirit, and social wellbeing.” Everyone has a unique constitution, known as a ‘dosha’ within Ayurvedic science.  There are 3 doshas and everyone has a bit of each with one usually being more dominant.

Your Best Yoga and Self-Care Practices

This weekend is illuminating for everyone, young or old, with or without yoga experience.  No experience or physical ability is required to enjoy this retreat.

Our time together will challenge you to consider lifestyle practices which may better serve you, and bring valuable self-knowingness.

This retreat was created because a very basic introduction to the Doshas, is always valued by participants in other brief introductory workshops.  This is particularly useful for people who are healing, body or mind, and provides practical knowledge about how you can implement simple lifestyle changes that serve your health on all levels.

Join in to explore and bring new insights to your yoga and self-care practices.

What to Expect this Weekend

During this weekend retreat, you will discover your constitution using Ayurveda, and develop an understanding of the connection between your moods, what you eat, the style of exercise you enjoy and more.  Using the healing science of Ayurveda you foster deep self-awareness, and create a blueprint for a nourished, healthy and balanced life, as unique as you are.

The yoga classes, group discussions, journaling and meditation sessions will help you to form this blueprint, understanding not only yourself better, but also those around you – your children, your partner,  and others closest to you, and your interactions with them.  You get to figure out ‘what makes them tick’ as well as why you approach certain things the way you do.

You will gain insight on which practices suit your needs best including:  nutrition, rest, movement, routine vs change, balance and pace, disease and rejuvenation.  Tools, practices and insights will be presented for each area and for each dosha, so you get a fuller understanding of how all the pieces fit together.
